"The Sylvia Film Festival"
Rules and Regulations:
FESTIVAL PORTRAIT -- Sylvia Theater film showcase
The "Festival" recognizes and honors independent film makers
whose works touch our hearts and open our minds to the virtue of their
artistic expression. Selected entries will be showcased throughout the
Festival. Audiences will determine the competition winners via
confidential ballots provided at the screenings. There are also special
jury awards. Awards honoring film makers will be presented during the
Festival's closing ceremony. Sylvia's Film Festival's prestigious
Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented at a celebratory event
during the festival. In addition to film screenings, the agenda allows
time to discover and enjoy the beauty and amenities offered by the City
of York SC.
REQUIREMENTS -- Feature-length and short film entries in Dramatic,
Documentary, Comedy and Animation categories
Films must be available for the festival in 35mm, or DVD, titles
included. Films produced in languages other than English must have
English sub-titles or be dubbed in English. Each film entry MUST include
the fully completed entry form, the entry fee, brief plot synopsis, list
of principals, one page director bio and a DVD copy of film for preview
purposes. The Sylvia Theater Film Festival will take all possible care
in the handling of entries; however, the Festival cannot be responsible
for damage or loss to films or videotapes while they are in our
possession or in transit. Your signature on entry form authorizes us to
show clips on television for marketing, advertising and/or news
programs. If your film is accepted to screen at the Festival, you will
be asked to forward: B&W and/or Color stills, poster and/or
one-sheets and press kits.
SUBMISSIONS
A NON-REFUNDABLE entry fee must accompany each individual submission,
$40 Feature, $25 Short. Make all checks payable to Sylvia Theater LLC.
All film entries must be submitted on DVD. To have video returned,
enclose a self addressed, stamped envelope with film name in upper left
hand corner. All entries must be postmarked by September 15th 2005.
Selected entries will be notified on or before October 1st, 2005. All
